COMMISSIONING OF 6 LAY MISSION-HELPER CANDIDATES
Six candidates for mission will be commissioned as Lay Mission-Helpers on May 17th at St. John the Evangelist Church in Los Angeles. Jovanni & Grace Chang, from Hacienda Heights, CA will serve as Pastoral Associates in the diocese of Chiayi, Taiwan. They will be joined by Debbie Noonan of Milan, MI, who will teach English to students at a nursing school in the same diocese. Married couple Earl Fong & Diane Prell, from San Francisco, CA, are headed to the diocese of Mtwara, Tanzania where they will teach Math & English at St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School. Ned Smith, from Old Orchard Beach, ME, will teach at St. Peter’s Secondary School in the diocese of Kumbo, Cameroon as well as work with a newly established Catholic radio station in the diocese.
