CAMEROON

We originally came to Cameroon in the 1960’s when our LMH’ers in Nigeria crossed the border due to the conflict in Nigeria. We have served in Cameroon ever since. Currently we have three Lay Mission-Helpers serving in the Diocese of Kumbo. Chris & Alicia Johnson and their sons Keaton & Quinn serve in Kumbo. Chris is a nurse at three clinics and Alicia is an English teacher at St. Augustine College. Ned Smith is a teacher at St. Peter’s Secondary School in Mbve and is a member of the Radio Evangelorium Team – a new Catholic Radio Station for the diocese.

Lay Mission-Helpers began work in Guatemala in 2002. Working with the Maryknoll Fathers in the Apostolic Vicariate of Peten, Mitch Tolbert is in his second term of service. He is assisting in a cross cultural exchange program, as well as serving as a Pastoral Associate in the town of San Francisco.
